Crazy Sadie
Crazy Sadie Lived a good life. She was the Alfa dog, hard headed and stubborn as an OX. She came as a puppie wandering the streets and chose us to be her family. Sleeping in the stuffed leaf pumpkins she was most determined to survive. Many a time she ran away and eventually we learned it was a game. Many times we locked the gate and said tough girl survive on your own only to find her sitting on the front porch. When we moved to the country we just knew you would run away, but nope One trip across the field into the cactus and you knew where safety was. Never again for the next four years did we worry where you were. Mommy didn't even disown you when you killed her precious baby ducks. Granted they were in your territory but still you shouldn't have done it. Even though we wondered if you would make it through the heat or cold for the last few years you were tougher than tough and you percivered. We often joked you would out live us all by mere determination. You loved to eat bees and swell up like Houch. You were never a dull moment. You even managed to have a great time with all the granddogs Thanksgiving before you suddenly went down hill. Maybe you knew you couldn't handle the weather to come or maybe you wanted your best friend Alisa with you, we won't ever know. But with all of us with you, we said good bye and Keaton burried you in the field so you will always be close by. You lived a good life crazy Sadie. We loved you in spite of it all.
Loving Miss Ruby
As I start This post I will add the picture of my very dearest Ruby. Miss ruby was the best momma, She never lost a baby and alway always kept them warm and full. She actually was sad when her babies left . Even if they had moved out of her cage and later went to a new home. She past away this last Spring but I got to hold her and love her not knowing she was going before she died. She went peacefully and if buried safe and sound behind the barn.

Goats
I really need new pictures on my blog of the goats and sheep. They are too funny. Captain. he is the boss of all times and he is not above using his horns to his advantage. Blondie is the ruling female. If you make her mad you better look out. She is by far the friendliest of all them. She loves attention. Her favorite past time is scratching her belly on the eaten down tree or pulling the sheep shelter around the pen while scratching her back. She is a little squatty girl and therefor doesn't jump much. She used to use a low spool to get on then jump to the higher spools but she is content to be grounded most of the time now. Occasionally she still makes the climb to fight for Queen of the hill and send Captain to lower ground. She has to be in an exceptionally good mood for that. Well that all for now from the land of farm.

Ducks
Animal life is interesting. Some take more time and effort than others. Rufie and Sebastian our ducks are low maintenance for the most part. However, (ya knew there was a trick right?) they continue to baffle me in the egg department. Ducks should just live and hang right? Well they do for the most part but Rufie seems to have trouble regulating her eggs. Either the shells are to thin, or too thick. Now too thick isn't near as big a problem as too thin. When they are too thin they break upon delivery. So we continue to feed her hopeing to figure out the balance with out making Sebastian out of whack. UGGGGH Have a great one. quack quack

I Love love love spring time!!!! Spring time is baby animal time. While we don't always have domestic babies there are always some close by. Momma cotton tail had two this spring and they are hanging in the field and the duck pen. Soooo fun to watch. Baby birds are learning to fly. IF you have not had this opportunity, you need to call me. I will make sure you get to see it. And of course, the baby toads are coming out. Nature is just so fun to watch. And the best kind because you are not having to feed and care for them. We usually have momma bunnies and baby ducks we are raising but this momma just had too much on her plate to get every thing happening but all the animals are kind of enjoying it except my little beauty girl. Beauty is the barn momma and she is broken hearted to not have babies happening. I keep telling her this fall she can help everyone but she is not going for it. Take care Everyone.
